Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Avondale Park School and our school website.

Avondale Park School is a large primary school serving a multi-ethnic community in the heart of North Kensington and since September 2014 we have been federated with St Anne’s Nursery School. Please click here for federation home page.

At Avondale Park School we have two classes in each year group, with about 25 children per class. There are 26 teaching staff including the Head and Deputy Headteacher and 41 non teaching staff. We pride ourselves as teachers on aiming continually to develop and improve our teaching in order to make learning accessible and exciting for all pupils.

We are fortunate to have lots of space with excellent facilities, including 2 computer suites, interactive whiteboards in each classroom, two sports halls, and developing playgrounds.

We are an inclusive school encouraging the academic, social and personal development of every child in a welcoming and secure environment. Visitors are always struck by the friendly but hardworking atmosphere created by staff and pupils and indeed, Ofsted commented on this.

As your child’s first teacher, you will be aware of your child's needs, strengths and weaknesses and we hope to build upon that experience through a strong home – school partnership. We are happy to discuss our approach to education with parents and hope that they will continue to be involved in their children’s education throughout their school career.

We look forward to meeting you. Please phone for an appointment. Best wishes,

Katy Blackler - Headteacher.

I have been impressed this term with the amount of home learning done during the holidays and the term time by many – but particularly Year 5 children. I have enjoyed reading since the holiday some of the research that they have completed regarding the human body – and I am pleased that many have presented it imaginatively and with great care. Well done to those children in Year 5!

EILEEN HUDSON Children in KS1 and KS2 gathered in the Dining Hall on Thursday of this week to wish Eileen Hudson a very happy retirement. She has been cooking lunches at Avondale Park School for 28 years and has decided to retire the day before her 83rd birthday! We wish her a very happy and restful retirement!

DEBBIE WILLEY We are delighted that Debbie Willey will be returning to work in her role as a TA and a senior meals supervisor from next week. Her treatment has been successful and she is feeling much better and ready for work. Welcome back Debbie!
